Lyde Green Community School

Student Code of Conduct

We teach learners that self-discipline and respect are fundamental. Every learner is expected to commit to the following Code of Conduct, driven by one core promise: I will do whatever it takes to learn and to build a safe, respectful community.

My Learning (I do whatever it takes to succeed)

  • I arrive at school by 8.25 am every day, in the correct uniform, smartly worn, fully equipped, and ready to learn.
  • I sit in the expected learning position, actively participate, and follow all classroom routines in silence when asked.
  • I complete my homework every night, and I take full responsibility for attending Homework Catch Up if my work is not on time, accurate, neat, or complete.
  • I show resilience by asking questions when I am stuck, reading at home every day, and catching up on any learning I miss due to absence.
  • I only drink water during lessons and never eat or chew in class.

My Community (I do whatever it takes to support others)

  • I show empathy by listening to, helping, and caring for my Lyde Green teammates.
  • I follow instructions from staff politely and immediately.
  • I walk calmly and quietly around the building, holding doors open for others and moving purposefully to lessons.
  • I treat our school environment with respect by never damaging property, dropping litter, or using offensive language.
  • I am always an ambassador for the school, conducting myself with pride whether on site, travelling on public transport, or in the local community.

My Mindset (I take responsibility)

  • I take full responsibility for my own behaviour and choices.
  • I discuss any problems I am having at school honestly with my parents, carers, and teachers.
  • I never settle for less than my very best, because I believe I am capable of achieving my own academic success.
  • I am ready to strive for greatness and do whatever it takes to be successful at school and in life beyond school.
