Open Evening 2026 - Parent Talk📹 Missed our Open Evening? Catch up here! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Open Evening. It was wonderful to welcome so many families into school and share what makes our community such a special place to learn and grow. For anyone who was unable to attend, or for those who would like to revisit the presentation, we have now uploaded a recording of Headteacher Tom Hill's Open Evening talk. In it, he shares our vision for the school, our commitment to helping every student be known and supported, taught and challenged, and prepared for life, as well as what students can expect if they join us in September 2027. We hope you find it helpful as you make this important decision for your child. 🎥 Watch the full recording on YouTube: https://youtu.be/1UDktlmJD2E?si=kHblNvOFgJMmM5Ih If you have any questions after watching, please feel free to get in touch. We'd be delighted to hear from you. #LydeGreenCommunitySchool#TEAMValues#Year7Admissions#SecondarySchool#September2027#KnownSupportedChallengedPreparedForLife 2 Likes
We're incredibly proud of what our founding students, staff and families have created together in just a few short weeks. This video offers a glimpse into the school we're building: a calm, ambitious and caring community where every child is known, supported and challenged to achieve their very best. As a brand new secondary school, we're still at the beginning of our journey. We don't claim to have all the answers, but we do have a clear vision, high expectations and a determination to create something special for the young people of Lyde Green and beyond. If you're a Year 6 family considering your secondary school options, we'd love you to take a look and discover what makes our school different. We also still have a small number of places available in our current Year 7 cohort for families looking for a fresh start in a growing school community. 🎥 Watch the video below and see the story that's only just beginning. #LydeGreenCommunitySchool#TeamLGR#SecondarySchool#Year6Parents#BristolSchools#SouthGloucestershire#SchoolBuiltForTheFuture 77 Likes
Still smiling after an unforgettable Open Evening! ✨ A huge thank you to every family who joined us last night. It was wonderful to welcome more than 750 visitors through our doors and to see so many future students exploring our school, meeting our staff, and experiencing the strong sense of community that makes our school so special. From science experiments and sporting challenges to music performances, reading activities and opportunities to meet our passionate staff team, there was a real buzz throughout the building all evening. A special thank you must go to our amazing current students, who volunteered as guides, performers and ambassadors. They spoke confidently about their experiences, answered questions with maturity and enthusiasm, and represented our school brilliantly. We could not be prouder of them. For a school that has only been open for a few weeks, seeing so many families place their trust in our vision for the future was truly humbling. Thank you for your support, your questions, and your excitement about what lies ahead. We look forward to welcoming many of you back again soon! 💚💙 #LydeGreenCommunitySchool#OpenEvening#FutureReady#TeamLGR#ProudToBeLGR 35 Likes
